WATCH: ENGINEERING THE PERFECT MIX WITH SODHIVINE

In our second masterclass of the year, QWave had the pleasure of hosting special guest Naanak Sodhi (aka Sodhivine) to talk about mixing and his experience in the music industry. Naanak Sodhi is a Canadian music producer and composer with a career spanning 10+ films, 5+ albums and 35+ singles for clients including Bell Television Media (CTV, TSN etc.), Vancouver Film School and various accomplished musicians and composers. His work within music strategy and music content-based initiatives has helped him and his collaborators achieve millions of cumulative online streams, achieving #1 position on iTunes ‘world’ music charts, international radio play, and placements on multiple Spotify editorial playlists. With a background in engineering design, he has pioneered new production, mixing, and mastering techniques, earning critical acclaim. Naanak also hosted an FM radio show "Desi Vibes" on CJSW FM Calgary for 3 years, playing music, interviewing guests, and broadcasting to over 10,000 active listers per show. A Smith Scholar and recent graduate of the Queen’s MBA program, Naanak works under the moniker “Sodhivine” for his independent releases, aiming to bring inspiration from his Indian heritage to popular music today.
