Muhammad Ibrahim
CLUB DIRECTOR
Ibrahim is a third year Computer Science major. Ever since high school he has been pursuing making music in the genres of Rap, R&B, and House. Starting from the humble beginnings of knowing nothing about music, over the years he has been honing is skills to compete against the top producers of the world. Mostly self-taught, Ibrahim hopes to use the knowledge he picked up and share it with others here at QWave. His favorite way of making music is through group sessions. Upon arrival at Queens, he joined QWave, where he found a lot of the friends he spends time with and makes music with today. He also really likes milk.

Tony Yu
CO-DIRECTOR
Tony is a fourth year Life Sciences Major student from New Brunswick. Music has always been a big part of his life, as he has been playing the piano since the age of 4 and has picked up tenor & bari saxophone in high school. Though an aspiring dentist, Tony wished to keep being involved in music, which he then conveniently found out about Logic ProX in 2020 and has been producing various genres since then (Hiphop, R&B, Lo-Fi, music scoring). Having been involved with Qwave since first year, he is determined to contribute the most he could this year for this awesome club founded by the amazing Adam Ben David, as the Co-Director. Outside of school, he is also the keys player of the Stonemasons, a 5-piece blues rock band rooted in Fredericton. In addition, he also likes to swallow Gin when appropriate.

Tyler Galley
STUDIO DIRECTOR
Tyler Galley is a third year Mechanical Engineering student at Queen's. Through a background in guitar and piano, Tyler became interested in understanding the technical aspects that make people enjoy music. He became interested in music production in junior high, and has been producing in Ableton for the past 4 years, mainly inspired by genres such as pop, alt-rock, and hip-hop. Through the Studio Director position, Tyler hopes to help create a welcoming space for Queen's students to collaborate and share their passion for music with each other, as well as learning as much as he can about production and audio engineering.

Noah Schellenberg
FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
Noah is a 3rd year electrical engineer who also doubles as the financial advisor for QWAVE. First starting making music inspired by flume and Kaytranada, has now been developing mixing and mastering skills to assist and teach others. Being classically taught multiple instruments, he know transitions his previous knowledge into both the technical and software portion of producing. From playing at Cogro at Queen’s University to local bars at home the one thing he’ll never play is Wonderwall.

Connor Dore
MEDIA DIRECTOR
Connor is a third year Biology & Psychology student from New Brunswick, Canada. He was always surrounded by many different genres of music growing up, primarily rock and hip-hop. After being gifted an electric guitar, Connor began playing with the idea of making his own sounds, resulting in a liking for creating his own music. He then began experimenting with digital audio production via Logic Pro and slowly gathered the resources for an at-home studio, where he now produces ambient shoegaze/post-punk tracks.

Aidan Chin
TUTORIAL DIRECTOR
Aidan is a third-year Computer Engineering student at Queen’s. He began learning songwriting and music production skills in elementary school. He taught himself the basics of sampling, mixing and mastering by tinkering around in a variety of music production software, from Audacity to Ableton. He now makes music under the name “saintsbury”, experimenting with and blending different genres. Aidan hopes to contribute to the community of musicians and music lovers by being a part of QWave.

Thomas Xu
FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
Thomas is a third year Commerce student from Mississauga, Ontario. Having started with classical piano from a young age, Thomas branched out into guitar and music theory in his early high school years. Unfortunately, Thomas had a falling out with music later on, as performance pressures and career considerations became a priority. Over quarantine, he redisocovered his love for music and found his wave to QWave. Here, Thomas hopes that he can help spread his love of music with others and learn a bit more about music production on his own.

Richard Hu
MARKETING TEAM
Richard is a fourth-year Music student from Scarborough, Ontario. Having played piano since the age of 7, he found his passion for creating music through various rhythm games and doujinshi music which has played a huge part in his growth as a producer and composer. During his 7 years of producing music under the alias Forged Reigns, he has been featured in several rhythm games himself as well as the Kingston Sounds 2023 playlist hosted by YGK Music. By joining QWave, he hopes to help contribute to the growing community of musicians at Queen's in his own way, one funny sound at a time.

Brandon Liang

Brandon is a 3rd year Computer Science student from Richmond Hill. He didn’t really have any musical talent growing up but during the pandemic, decided to pick up an acoustic guitar thats been collecting dust in the house and taught himself how to play off YouTube. Learning other people’s songs were fun but he got real enjoyment out of creating songs, making indie music (most of the time). He is constantly experimenting and learning more with each song with inspiration from talented artists and friends.

Musaad Hydary
MANAGING TEAM
Musaad is a third year computer engineering student from Toronto. He’s been producing boom-bap and Lo-Fi hip-hop beats for the past 5 years. At a young age, he loved listening to Rap and R&B and continues to experiment with these genres in his music. He joined QWave to meet new people and learn more about the art of sampling. He’s also a big fan of Pokémon and waffles.

Bella Ba
FIRST-YEAR REP
My name is Bella and i’m a first year music major! i’m a singer/songwriter and have been singing and writing music since i was 13. I’ve always wanted to pursue music, when covid started i began making music on garage band and logic pro bringing my musical ideas to life and i’ve had so much fun since! my favourite genres to listen to and produce are Rock, Indie, Electronic and Alternative but if i could work with any artist right now i’d wanna collaborate with Harry Styles and Sarah Kinsley! i joined QWave in hopes of making new friends and connections and to learn more about producing and the music business.

Adam Ben David
FOUNDER
Adam is a Queen’s University alumnus from Montréal. He founded QWave in 2019, hoping to foster a sense of connection amongst students who love to create music around campus. Although his time at Queen’s has run its course, he will always be around and to support the community and assist in maintaining QWave as a tight-knit community for both amateur and experienced producers alike. He also really likes peanut butter.
